It was purchased brand new from Shoppers back when they were getting cleared out. It came with 4 AAs that I've had no trouble with.

Went looking for some AAAs, and all I could find at the time were 800mAH Rayovacs. I put 2 of them in the charger. The lights for each battery went solid red, and the batteries were warm to the touch after several minutes.

The LEDs stayed solid red for about 15-20 mins, then started flashing. Sorry, I'd've stated that all in my first post, but I thought someone might have the manual handy and could just post meanings for the LEDs. They are obviously getting partially charged, but I was trying to figure out what caused the crapout.

I know Rayovac isn't the same as Duracell, but aren't they at least still a name brand?
