Not every mobile phone has a fully fledged FM radio built in, but your Nokia N70 is one of the lucky few. You are certainly missing out if you don’t set it up with stations so that you can drop in and get some chat, rock, classical music or whatever else takes you fancy from time to time. Whenever you want to listen to the radio you will need to use the headphones that come with the phone as these contain the FM. To start the radio running plug in the headphones - they act as the aerial - then press the Nokia Menu key to the left of the 1 and 2 keys then choose Radio. To listen to the radio through the loudspeaker choose Options with the left Selection key then choose Activate loudsp. To turn the speaker off and revert to using the headphones, choose Options with the left Selection key then choose Deactivate loudsp.

When you have finished listening to the radio choose Exit with the right select key. If you want to leave the radio playing while you do other things choose Options with the left Selection key then choose Play in background. Now you can use other applications and the radio will remain on.

The radio can store up to 20 preset stations. To tune to and save a station follow these steps: • There is a column of icons down the left side of the screen. Press the ‘up’ or ‘down’ section of navigation button to highlight the one with and upward pointing arrow or the one with a downward pointing arrow and press the button in the centre of the navigation key. The radio will tune up or down the spectrum to the next available station. • choose Options with the left Selection key then choose Save station • use the navigation button to scroll through the available slots and when you get to the one you want choose Select with the left Selection key. Type the station name and then choose OK with the left Selection key • Repeat this as many times as you like. When you have more than one station saved you can move between them in two ways: • Either choose Options with the left Selection key then choose Stations • Or on the main radio screen use the navigation button to go to the top or second icon in the left hand column and press to select.
